![]() ![]() In the 1980s the ever existing racism in basketball came out of the closet, due to many of the black players speaking up – one of which being Isiah Thomas, who said that Bird would have only been another good player, if he had been black. ![]() Thomas, who still holds a grudge against many of the NBA’s stars of that era, wasn’t the biggest fan of Bird during their active playing days. The 3-time MVP was one of the greatest basketball players and greatest shooters of all time and should find his place on every Top-10 of all time list… well, maybe aside from Isiah Thomas’. Together with Magic Johnson, Larry Bird was the dominant force in the NBA during the 1980s. Within a short space of time both Bird's wife and Anderson's husband are dead. In 1982, Tom Bird, an ambitious and charismatic Lutheran minister in American's mid-west, falls in love with one of his parishioners, Lorna Anderson, and together they make plans to start a fresh life in New Mexico. The series received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Editing for a Miniseries or a Special (Single Camera Production). Emmet Walsh, John Goodman and Johnny Galecki. The film was subsequently released on VHS and DVD. Much of the principal photography and filming occurred on location in Kansas, and some of the dialogue comes directly from court transcripts. His investigation leads him to believe foul play was involved. Based on actual events that occurred in Emporia, Kansas, in 1983, the film tells the story of State Trooper John Rule (Carradine), who investigates what appears to be a traffic accident resulting in the death of a local minister's wife. It was co-written and directed by Mike Robe. Murder Ordained is a television film that originally aired for CBS in 1987, starring Keith Carradine, JoBeth Williams, and Kathy Bates. ![]()
